First, ensure the power cable is securely plugged into both the machine and a working wall outlet. Check the main power switch on the machine and the circuit breaker for your outlet. If the issue persists, refer to the user manual for model-specific power checks.
Rice sticking is often due to incorrect rice temperature or improper cleaning. Ensure your shari (sushi rice) has cooled to the recommended temperature (around 95°F / 35°C). Thoroughly clean all surfaces in contact with rice using a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive materials. Some models may require a light coating of a food-safe oil blend, check your manual.
Inconsistent nigiri is typically a calibration issue. Please consult your ASM440A manual for the re-calibration procedure. It involves resetting the machine and forming a few test rice balls to adjust the density and weight settings. Also, ensure the rice hopper is consistently filled and not running low.
A dull or dirty blade is the most common cause. Carefully remove the blade unit as per the manual instructions. Clean it thoroughly with warm water to remove any rice or nori residue. If cleaning does not solve the issue, the blade may need to be sharpened or replaced. Contact us for replacement parts.
